Introduction
Young people in Indonesia are the beacon of hope for a better Indonesia. It is important for young people to participate on building social awareness and community service for the betterment of societal welfare and peace. Our mission is to raise young leaders who can rise up to the challenge to take ownership of nation-building and peace-building. We envision Indonesia as the cradle and role model for Global Peace.
Thus, in gearing towards the direction, it is an honor for us to present the Young Leaders Award for Global Peace to young leaders in Indonesia that have done significant contributions and achievements toward their community and society. The award will be presented by the National Education Ministry of Indonesia at the Global Peace Festival Main Event on 17 October 2010 at Stadium Gelora Bung Karno.
Qualification of Application
The application for the award is open up to all young Indonesians aged 16 - 25.
There are 2 methods of applications:
1. Nomination by your university
- each university can nominate maximum of 10 candidates
2. Nomination by your friends and anyone who knows you
Criteria of Selection?
To get shortlisted as a candidate for the Young Leaders Award for Global Peace, the nominated candidates need to fulfill these criteria of selection:
1. Fill in the Application Form

2. Attach your CV and 1 passport-size photo of you
Do highlight your achievements or involvements in any social cause
3. Attach a written Essay
Each topic can be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia.
Each topic must be written not more than 200 words. Please complete all topics:

Topic 1: Please tell us why peace is important to you? Topic 2: Please tell us what are the social issues in Indonesia that young people can take action to effect social change? Topic 3: Please tell us your strategy on how to effect social change through the Power of Rupiah fund raising campaign? |
- Submit all the particulars mentioned above to us during the Young Leaders Award Convocation on 5th October 2010. All candidates should attend the convocation to receive more details.
- Exemplifying your commitment by promoting the social cause of “Power of Rupiah”, initiative to care for children in poverty and attend the Global Peace Festival Asia Pacific on 17th October 2010 at Stadium Gelora Bung Karno.
